Congratulations you three for bringing pride to your club, your county and to yourselves. People don't really understand, unless they have done it themselves, the courage and dedication it takes to "put yourself out there" to compete against the best nationally. Well done to you all.

The George Herbert Stancer Championships was set up in 1970 to commemorate this notable English racing cyclist of the late 19th Century after he died in October 1962. A trust fund was set up to promote and encourage young cyclists and is a national schools 10-mile individual time trial championship which is promoted annual by the Yorkshire Cycling Federation on a day near his birthday.
