17 October 2010
The 2010 Severn Bridge Sportive takes place on 17th October – and is the ideal way to round off your sportive season. Starting and finishing at the world famous Castle Combe Motor Racing Circuit near Chippenham in Wiltshire, the route takes riders down the Cotswold escarpment to the north of Bath and Bristol before crossing the old Severn Bridge into South Wales.
After the first feed, in the grounds of picturesque Chepstow Castle, the route then splits in two – with the shorter route taking riders back across the old Severn Bridge and heading for home, whilst the longer route heads east to the Forest of Dean, re-crosses the River Severn at Gloucester, before heading back across the Cotswolds to Castle Combe covering just over 100 miles.
The Severn Bridge Sportive benefits from full NEG outrider support, 1st aid cover, neutral service support (provided by Performance Cycles), electronic timing, well stocked feeds, nutritional support from Science in Sport, comprehensively signed route and much more – the event HQ at Castle Combe has plenty of free parking, along with free food for every rider when they return from their ride. And all for just £24.50 per rider.
Taking in stunning countryside, and the iconic Severn Bridge crossing – the 2010 Severn Bridge Sportive is one not to me missed.
